Atarrabiako Mikelats Dantza Taldea 1994an jaio zen Atarrabian (Nafarroa) Atarrabiako gazte asanblada-ren eskutik. 1994 urteko udan zehar asanblada honek, beste ekintzen artean, dantza herrikoiak tailerra antolatu zuen. Deialdia entusiasmo handiarekin hartua izan zen herriko hogei gazte ingururen partez. Kursiloari amaiera emateko, talde honek, gazte asanbladako dantza taldea bezala ezagutzen zena, uda horretan zehar ikasitakoarekin emanaldi bat eman zuen. Atarrabiako jaietako lehenengo larunbatean, eguerdiko 13h etan, plaza konsistorialean, Mikelats Dantza Taldea-ren lehenengo aktuazioa eskeini zen.

Ekintzak jasotako harrera izugarria ikusita, aktibitantearen zenbait parte hartzaileek aurrera jarraitzea erabaki zuten gaur egun (eta urte azkoz, espero dugu) aktibo jarraintzen duen taldeari izena eta egitura emanez.

Baterakuntza urte batzuen ostean, 1998an Mikelatsek ikuskizun bat sortu zuen, dantza, musika eta antzerkia biltzen zituena, non 50 gaztek baino gehiagok parte hartu zuen aktore, musikari eta dantzarien artean. 1998ko Atarrabiako egunean zehar “Amaia, o los vascos en el siglo VIII” ikuskizuna estreinatu zen, Navarro Villoslada-ren nobelaren izen bereko antzerki obraren moldaketa, zein geografia nafarran eskaini izan zuten hurrengo bi urtetan zehar.
Atarrabiako mikelats dantza taldea nace en 1994 en Villava (Navarra) a raíz de la iniciativa de la Atarrabiako gazte asanblada (asamblea de jóvenes de Villava). Durante el verano de 1994 esta asamblea organizó entre otras actividades la de dantza herrikoiak o bailes populares. La convocatoria fue acogida con gran entusiasmo por una veintena de jóvenes de la localidad. como colofón a este cursillo, este grupo, entonces conocido como grupo de danzas de la gazte asanblada ofreció una exhibición de lo aprendido durante ese verano. El primer sábado de las fiestas patronales de Villava, a las 13 h. en la plaza consistorial se representó la primera actuación de Mikelats Dantza Taldea.

Tras la gran acogida que supuso esta actividad, varios de los participantes en ese cursillo decidieron continuar adelante dando cuerpo y nombre al grupo que hoy en día continua (y esperemos que por muchos años) en activo.

Tras unos años de consolidación en 1998 Mikelats produjo un espectáculo de danza, música y teatro en el cual participaron más de 50 jóvenes entre actores, músicos y dantzaris. Durante el Atarrabiako eguna (día de Villava) de 1998 se estrenó el espectáculo “Amaia, o los vascos en el siglo VIII”, adaptación teatral de la novela del mismo nombre de Navarro Villoslada, con el que actuaron por toda la geografía Navarra durante los dos siguientes años.
Atarrabiako mikelats dantza taldea was born in 1994 in Villava (Navarra) following the initiative of the Atarrabiako gazte asanblada (youth assembly of Villava). During the summer of 1994 this assembly organized among other activities that of dantza herrikoiak or popular dances. The call was received with great enthusiasm by about twenty young people from the town. To conclude this course, this group, then known as the dance group of the Gazte asanblada offered an exhibition of what was learned during that summer.
The first Saturday of the Villava festivities, at 1pm. the first performance of Mikelats Dantza Taldea was performed in the town hall. After the great reception that this activity meant, several of the participants in that workshop decided to continue giving body and name to the group that continues today (and hopefully for many years) active.
After a few years of consolidation in 1998 Mikelats produced a dance, music and theater show in which more than 50 young people participated, including actors, musicians and dancers. During the Atarrabiako eguna (Villava day) of 1998, the show “Amaia, or the Basques in the eighth century” was released, a theatrical adaptation of the novel of the same name by Navarro Villoslada, with which they acted throughout the Navarra geography during the Two following years.
